CONSERVING LAND, WATER AND OCEANS

USING KEY BIODIVERSITY AREAS TO IMPROVE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE KUNMING-MONTREAL GLOBAL BIODIVERSITY FRAMEWORK

Level: Débutant | Estimated completion time: 2 hours | Certificate upon completion

Skills: Understanding Key Biodiversity Areas, applying KBA data to GBF targets, integrating KBAs into NBSAPs, linking KBAs to finance and safeguards

Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) have been partially identified in all except three countries of the world. KBAs are globally significant sites for species or ecosystems and are therefore a high priority for conservation. This journey will show how identifying and using KBAs can better achieve some of the targets and goals of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

Task 1: What are KBAs?
Task 2: How can countries use KBAs in practice?
Task 3: GBF and KBAs
