Article Six of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) requires Parties to develop national strategies, plans or programs which should reflect the measures set out in the Convention. Parties have developed NBSAPs, which translate the measures set out by the CBD, and other biodiversity-related Conventions, into a set of prioritized, country-specific national actions. NBSAPs may also set out legislative actions at the national level. During this webinar, the speakers provide options to improve the legal effectiveness of NBSAPs and enhance participants’ understanding of the associated legal elements. They also outline the level of legal preparedness countries need to undertake to be able to achieve the Aichi Biodiversity Targets.
