Session #12: Using the Online Reporting Tool for national target submission

The Online Reporting Tool serves as the central platform for submitting national targets and national reports, making it an essential component of the reporting process under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). The development of this tool as the designated modality for submitting national reports was driven by the requirements outlined in decision 15/6, specifically paragraph 29(d), and further detailed in annex II of the same decision. The decision also requests Parties to submit updated national targets through the tool ahead of the 16th Conference of Parties, this October.

During this webinar, participants will be introduced to the features and functionalities of the Online Reporting Tool. The session will be led by representatives from the Secretariat of the CBD who will provide a comprehensive demonstration of the tool. This will include step-by-step guidance on how to submit national biodiversity targets and indicators, along with an overview of the key benefits of using the tool. The webinar will conclude with a question and answer session, allowing participants to clarify any uncertainties and gain deeper insights into the reporting process. This interactive component ensures that all Parties are well-equipped to navigate the tool and fulfill their reporting obligations effectively ahead of COP16.
